Meet the Barbell Dietitian

I’m Keenan — an Accredited Practising Dietitian and competitive weightlifter, specialising in performance-focused nutrition for athletes and active individuals.

I hold a Master of Nutrition and Dietetics, following a Bachelor of Nutrition & Food Science, and have worked across clinical, private practice, and performance-based settings. I currently work alongside multiple businesses, supporting clients from competitive athletes through to individuals accessing medical nutrition therapy via Medicare and private health.

My primary focus is working with athletes — including weightlifters, powerlifters, CrossFit athletes, runners, and endurance athletes — who want to fuel training, improve performance, and recover effectively. Alongside this, I also support individuals seeking evidence-based nutrition support for weight management, diabetes, PCOS, cholesterol, and overall metabolic health.

As both a clinician and an athlete, I understand the physical and mental demands that come with training, competition, and balancing nutrition with real life. My work is grounded in evidence-based practice, but always delivered in a way that’s practical, flexible, and sustainable.

Empowering Health Through Nutrition

I don’t believe there’s one “right” way to eat. Everyone trains differently, lives differently, and responds differently — so nutrition needs to reflect that.​ My work is grounded in evidence-based practice, but shaped by real life. I focus on consistency over perfection, clarity over complexity, and strategies that support performance without taking over your life.

Whether I’m working with athletes or individuals seeking medical nutrition support, my goal is the same: to help people feel confident in how they fuel, understand why they’re doing what they’re doing, and build habits that actually last.

Nutrition should feel supportive and empowering — not restrictive, confusing, or stressful.
